Alphonse Spenard
Alphonse Spenard, 84, of 31 High Street, Southbridge, died yesterday in Harrington Memorial Hospital.
The son of the late Leopold and Else (LaFleur) Spenard, he was born in St. Pierre, Canada. He was formerly employee by the Underwood Company as a clerk.
Spenard is survived by his wife, Mrs. Aurore (Mompas) Spenard; two sons, Bruno of Southbridge and Leopold of Sturbridge; eight daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Gregoire, Mrs. Irene Bergeron, Mrs. Leo Cadarette and Miss Therese Spenard all of Southbridge, Mrs. Alice Toutant of North Grosvenordale, Sister Marie Aquilla of the Sisters of the Holy Cross of North Grosvenordale, Sister Marie of the Assumption and Sister Rachel of the Holy Family, both assigned to the Camelite order in the Philippines; and a sister, Mrs. Ernestine Gauthier of St. Hyacinthe, Canada.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 8:15am from the Frank A. Sansoucy and Son Funeral Home with a High Mass in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm today and tomorrow.
