TUPPER LAKE - Doris M. Proulx, 81, of Tupper Lake, left this life Saturday April 7, 2007 surrounded by her loving family to be with her three sons in heaven. Born Dec. 12, 1926 in Plattsburgh, she was the daughter of Edward and Elizabeth Garrett. She was raised and attended local schools in Plattsburgh. She married Rolland "Tapsy" Proulx of Tupper Lake on May 28, 1949 and called Tupper Lake her home. In her earlier years, she worked at Pal Blade in Plattsburgh of which she had many fond memories. She was a devoted wife and mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Doris enjoyed gardening and flowers and had a green thumb to go with it. She is survived by her husband of 58 years; her son Thomas Proulx and daughterin- law Connie of Tupper Lake, her daughter Cathy Staves and son-in-law Marc of Tupper Lake; she will be deeply missed by her four grandchildren: Eric
Proulx, Stacey Proulx, Christina (Staves) Hoffnagle and Nicole Staves; her great-grandchildren: Skyler, Kerstin, Taylor and Madison; a stepbrother Arthur LaSalle of North
Carolina; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sons: Rolland Jr., Cordell and Steven; two brothers: Edward and Thomas Garrett; her stepbrother Francis LaSalle; her sister . Margaret Garrett; and a very good friend and loving sister in-law Beverley Garrett. Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 13 at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Tupper Lake. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14 at St. Alphonsus Church in Tupper Lake. Burial services will take place in St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
