JACQUES, Ghislain "Hiss"

Ghislain "Hiss" Jacques, 53, of West Hartford, peacefully journeyed Home to see his late Mom and Dad on Monday (September 10, 2012). Born in St. Zacharie, province of Quebec, Canada on Sept. 18, 1958, a son of the late Emile and Adelia (Gagne) Jacques, he had been a resident of East Hartford for several years prior to moving to West Hartford over 17 years ago. "Hiss" attended A.I. Prince Technical School in Hartford. A talented Taper, "Hiss" took great pride in his work and was employed for the past 20 years by the Drywall Unlimited Corporation in Farmington. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #6119, West Hartford. He especially enjoyed playing the card/board game "Tuck", and riding his motorcycle. "Hiss" is survived by his three daughters, Emilee A. Jacques of Windsor, Amanda M. Jacques at college in Orono, ME, and Jessica L. Jacques at college in New London. He also leaves his best friend, Nancy Glass of West Hartford with whom he made his home; four sisters, Eva Gagnon and her husband Victor, Yvette Lessard, Lynda Gauthier and her husband Alain, all in Canada, and Yolande Lessard and her husband Rejean, of Newington; ten brothers, Wilfrid Jacques and his wife, Ghislaine, Lucien Jacques, Gilles Jacques and his wife Luce, Regis Jacques and his wife Aurelie, all in Canada, Georges Jacques and his wife Denise, of Manchester, Camille Jacques and his wife Violette, Yves Jacques and his wife Nicole, Gaston Jacques and his wife Monique, Richard Jacques and his wife Helene all of East Hartford, and Martin Jacques and his wife Diane, of Colchester; many dear nieces, nephews, co-workers, and friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased by two brothers, Andre Jacques and Marie-Louis Jacques.
Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 21, at 3 p.m. at the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family at the family plot in Quebec, Canada. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Friday (Sept. 21) from 1-3 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Ghislain's name may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
