Tony DiBernardo

January 10, 1929 – January 02, 2022

Tony was the second youngest, of ten children. He was born in Montreal, to Alfonsina (Juliette) and Domenico DiBernardo.

His father passed away, in 1937. Alfonsina (Juliette) continued to raise the younger siblings, while the older ones, left school, and went off to work. Italian was spoken in the home. However, all the children spoke three languages. Alfonsina (Juliette) and her children remained close and loving. The family shared their thirst for knowledge and strong work ethics. Friendships with brothers, Joe and Mario, were deeply embedded and spoke volumes. From snowballs to bowling balls, attending hockey games to horse races; planning road trips…they did these, together.

His sisters also provided him with stimulating and diverse conversations. He engaged in topics, such as – culinary and visual art, business and finance, health and medicine. He reciprocated and challenged them to understand racing programs and examining hockey stats. Each sharing with the other, the finer things, in life.

Tony met Pauline Rancourt, and their love story began. They were a distinguished couple that enjoyed dancing, cooking, card and board games, reading and most of all family.

St. Adolph d’Howard, proved to be their vacation spot. It was there, that they continued to pursue their hobbies. It was there, that Tony, with his father- in- law's help, built his and Pauline’s forever chalet. A true outdoorsman, he so enjoyed the Laurentians. He was always eager to share its beauty and wonder. He and Pauline fulfilled their to do list, together.

Prior to Tony’s death, he moved to Napanee from St. Sauveur, in 2019. He resided at the Riverine, where he enjoyed the view of the Napanee River and all that it had to offer.

Tony was a gentle giant. May you, Rest In Peace, knowing how much you are loved and remembered, by those left behind.

Tony is reunited with the love of his life: Pauline Rancourt,

his parents: Alfonsina (Juliette) and Domenico DiBernardo,

his siblings: Constance DiBernardo, Dominco DiBernardo, Linda Hermakowski, Mario DiBernardo, Joe DiBernardo, Carmela Caporuscio, Jean Zelda, Vera Labrecque and Connie D. Pinka.
