Biographie Demonbrun Almon-Austin
Born and reared in the Mammoth Cave area, "A.A." lost his father at thirteen years of age and under the guidance and tutorship of his mother and uncle "Swamp" was educated both in and out of the county and was first a one-room school teacher, later a farmer and a breeder of choice livestock, a buyer of railroad cross-tie timber, operator of three general merchandise stores in Brownsville and Mammoth Cave and developed and operated the public telephone system of Edmonson County until he died. He also served as Kentucky State Representative and Senator for a number of years during which time he was chairman of the committee commissioned to create the Mammoth Cave Park.
