1926 - 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marie, peacefully at home, on Sunday May 1, 2022, with family by her side, at the age of 95; she has now returned to the arms of the Lord. Loving wife of the late Donald Smith. Devoted mother of Gerald, Michael, Victoria, David, Karen (Steve Smallshaw), Arnold, Donna Goodkey and Richard Smith. Cherished grandmother of Sheryl, Adam, Nathalie, David, Jessie, Sara, Kyle, Violet, and great-grandmother to Natasha, Wyatt and Tyler. Beloved sister of Emmett, Wilfred, Jack (Marion) Sammon, and the late Bernard Sammon. Marie's memory will always be cherished by her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Marie had light in her blue eyes that filled the souls of everyone that met her. She will be remembered for her love of family, music (fiddle), and her faith. Although she lived to be 95, she was still young at heart and full of love for life.

Friends may pay respects at Kelly Funeral Home - Carling Chapel, 2313 Carling Ave., 613-828-2313 from 5:00-9:00p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2022. A Mass of Christian Funeral for Marie will be celebrated at St. Basil Parish (940 Rex Ave.) on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 11:00a.m. Interment to Capital Memorial Gardens at 12:30p.m. - Garden of Atonement & Restoration, lot 122 D2
