John Tracey was born in Huntley in 1827, as per inscription on Grave Marker. He was the son of William Tracey and Rachel Day. He married 1) Emily Ann Scissons in Notre Dame, Ottawa in 1854. He married 2) Bridget Nash in 1875. John passed away in 1917.
John Tracey, farmer, of Knightington, Ont., late of South March, age 91 years past, had large funeral from his home to Eganville cemetery, attended by his children and and neighbors and friends from Ottawa. He was conscious to the last and was sitting In his rocking chair when he expired. He is survived by his second wife, and one sister, Mrs. Matthew Kehoe, (christened Rose Anna Day Tracey), of Ottawa. He also leaves to mourn him 14 children and 102 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He raised a family of ten by his first wife and six by the second, two of whom predeceased him. He has seven grandchildren, and two grandsons-in-law and one son-in-law serving their King and country, of whom one was killed and five wounded, three of them for the third time. He was born in Huntley, Ont., of Irish and Scotch parentage.
