John A. Bean Dies ;
Retired Switchman

John A. Bean, 78, of 1025 Park Ave., a retired New York Central Railroad switchman, died yesterday in St. Elizabeth Hospital.
He was born in Pembroke, Ont., Canada, ans was educated in Canadian schools. He married Ruby Shaw at North Bay, Ontario, Canada, in 1950. He came to Utica in 1914. He retired in 1955. Mr. Bean was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church, Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and Switchmen's Union of North America.
Besides his wife, he leaves four sons, John E. Bean, Albert Bean and John C. Bean, all of Utica, and Joseph Bean, Verona ; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Willa, and two brothers, Prosper Bean and Adolph Bean, all of North Bay, Canada.
Funeral Monday (March 5) from the Quinn, Ryan and Nunn Funeral Home. Requiem Mass at St. Francis de Sales Church. Burial in St. Agnes Cemetery (Utica).
