LEDUC, Elie - Peacefully, with his wife and children by his side, at the Cornwall Community Hospital, McConnell Site on Saturday, February 14, 2009. Elie Leduc (retired truck driver, farmer and shepherd of Alexandria; in Cornwall he was a construction worker for the entire Seaway Project) of Marlborough Street; age 84 years. Beloved husband for 56 years of Ethel (Major) Leduc. Dear father of Robert Leduc (Nicole) of Gatineau, QC, Hélène Summers (Steve) of Cornwall, Francine Wilson (Doug), Denise Le Houillier (Francis) both of Calgary, Alberta and Sylvie Leduc Johnston (Kevin) of Victoria, BC. Predeceased by one daughter, Lise. Cherished grandfather of Christina, Gabriel, Stéphanie, Kim, Nicole, Chantal, Marc, James and Ashley and great-grandfather of Luke McLeod and Mikayla and Logan Summers. Dear son of the late Antoine Leduc and the late Gloriana Doré and step- son of the late Elie David. Dear brother of Achilles Leduc (Eleanor) of Gravenhurst and Claire Crowley (Alphonse) of Alexandria. Predeceased by one sister, Marie-Reine Sabourin (Laurier) of Alexandria. Will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Resting at LAHAIE & SULLIVAN CORNWALL FUNERAL HOMES, East Branch, 614 First Street East (613-933- 2841) from 2 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral Wednesday, February 18, 2009 for Mass of Christian Burial in St. Félix de Valois Church at 11 a.m. Spring interment, Sacré-Coeur Parish Cemetery, Alexandria. The family will be in attendance from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Elie belonged to two associations, La Sainte- Face de Jésus and L'Ordre Franciscain Séculier. As expressions of sympathy, Mass Offerings or Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
