School Founder Dies, Aged 86
Mother Mary Stanislaus A Daughter of Francois Janisse
Rev. Mother Mary Stanislaus. 86. years and 6 months old, a descendant. of a pioneer Border family, died yesterday morning within the walls of the academy which she founded 62 years ago in Malone, New York. She was the daughter of Francois Janisse, whose family was one of first to settle here 175 years ago. One sister survives. Miss Elizabeth Janisse, who lives in Windsor. Four of the pallbearers at the services to be held at Malone tomorrow morning will be nephews of the ceased, George, Jerome, Stanislaus and Adolph Janisse. Last year at St. Joseph's Ursuline Academy, that was founded by Rev. Mother Mary Stanislaus, was celebrated her diamond jubilee in connection with the institution. She left the Border Cities at an early age. going to Chatham where she entered the Ursuline order. Burial tomorrow will be in the community plot in the vicinity of the academy
